LT2 Bino Harness

I purchased a Lone Trail bino harness that was delivered September 3 because I wanted to support an American small business and appreciated the values the company presents on its website. Lone Trail describes itself in terms of “Quality gear. Fair prices. Real support.” and talks about providing hunting gear that is functional and honest. Unfortunately, my experience did not live up to those expectations.

I understand that Lone Trail’s 30-day return policy specifies that gear must be unused. My issue is that this is hunting equipment marketed as field-proven gear. There is only so much you can determine about a bino harness inside your home. To know whether it actually performs as expected, you eventually have to take it into the field.

That is exactly what I did during a black bear hunt in Colorado Sunday September 13 through Friday, September 18.

During that hunt, I encountered a light right, not a downpour or extreme weather. Water soaked through the harness and wet both my binoculars and rangefinder. I was also muzzleloader hunting, where protecting equipment and components from moisture is particularly important. After that experience, I no longer have confidence in the harness to protect the equipment I purchased it to carry.

I contacted Lone Trail, explained what happened, and asked to return the harness. Their best offer was a 50% refund.

That response is ultimately what disappointed me most. I didn’t abuse the product or simply change my mind after months of ownership. I used a piece of hunting equipment for its intended purpose for less than a week and discovered through normal field use that it did not meet my needs, and contacted the company within the return period.

I recognize that the written policy says unused products, and the company is entitled to enforce its policy. But I also believe customer service is demonstrated by how a company handles situations that don’t fit neatly within the wording of a policy.

For a company that emphasizes functional and honest hunting gear, real support, and doing business the right way, I expected a different resolution.

I genuinely wanted to support Lone Trail and hoped to have a positive experience with a smaller American hunting company. Unfortunately, based on both the performance of the harness in light rain and the resolution I was offered afterward, I came away disappointed.

I got the LT2 harness and im very impressed with it. The material is spot on what you want, theirs storage pockets everywhere, love the full coverage, love how it opens outwards, love the magnets. It’s such a good feeling to get a quality product for a fair price. Thank you guys at LT.

I took a chance on this product as I couldn't find many reviews. So therefore I'll leave my review in hopes it helps someone else. This is well worth the price and it fits my Vortex 10x42 and lots of room to spare. The material is soft and surprisingly supple. I'm a big guy and it fits with room to spare. If you're in the market for a bino harness this is hands down a bargain. I believe it is much better quality than the vortex bino chest pack.

I absolutely love the harness, it has a bunch of storage and is super quiet.

I got my lt1s just after NY Deer season ended, but started to scout property immediately after, between rain, snow, multiflora rose, crab apple trees, and just overall all brushy mess my harness was unscathed, binoculars and accessories protected and dry! So now my bino harness goes everywhere with me, shootin in the backyard, any 3d range, shed hunting, scouting, grocery store, just wherever! But it really is a HIGH quality harness with all the same feature's as harnesses that are 3 times the price!! + a lifetime guarantee….. come on….
