5 Things Overpriced Hunting Brands Hope You Never Learn

What's going on, fellas? Let's have a little real talk about the hunting industry. You know those big, flashy brands that seem to dominate every magazine cover and TV show? The ones that make you feel like you need their gear to be a "real" hunter?
Well, there are a few things they'd rather you not know.

1. Their "Made in the USA" Label Is Often Misleading.

We all want to support American manufacturing. But here's the dirty little secret: a lot of those "Made in the USA" brands are just assembling foreign-made components here. The zippers, the fabric, the buckles - it usually comes from overseas, mostly China. Even worse, many Chinese factories have relocated to Vietnam due to geopolitical issues, so it may be "based in Vietnam" but chances are their parts are still supplied by China or it's a Chinese factory in Vietnam. So you're paying a premium for a label, not for American-made quality.

2. You're Paying for Their Marketing, Not Their Gear.

Ever wonder how those big brands can afford to sponsor every hunting celebrity and TV show? It's because you're paying for it. A huge chunk of their budget goes to marketing, not to research and development. They're selling you a lifestyle, not a product.

3. Their "Proprietary Technology" Is Usually Just Hype.

Every year, it's the same story. A new "revolutionary" technology that's going to change the game. But if you look closely, it's usually just a minor tweak on an old design, or a feature that doesn't actually make a difference in the field. Don't fall for it.

4. They're Not on Your Side.

Those big brands aren't your buddies. They're corporations with shareholders to please. Their goal is to maximize profits, not to help you become a better hunter. They want you to feel like you need to buy new gear every season, even if your old gear is still perfectly good.

5. There Are Better, More Affordable Options Out There.

This is the big one. The thing those overpriced brands really don't want you to know is that you don't have to spend a fortune to get high-quality gear. There are smaller, more focused brands out there that are making great products at a fair price. Brands that are run by hunters, for hunters. A perfect example is our bino harness. You'll see harnesses out there for $120, $140, even more. And what are you getting for that price? A logo. Our Lone Trail harness has the same silent magnetic closure, the same tough 500D Cordura fabric, the same comfortable and breathable design, plus a rangefinder pouch and MOLLE webbing for customization - all for a fraction of the cost.
That's what we're all about at Lone Trail. We're not going to BS you with marketing hype or charge you a premium for a fancy logo. We make purpose-built gear for serious deer hunters who refuse to overpay for performance.
And yeah, our gear is made in China. We're upfront about it. We have a great relationship with our factory, and they help us build gear that meets our high standards. As Apple's CEO Tim Cook said, they make products in China not because it's the cheapest labor anymore, but because they have the best infrastructure and skill. We tried to find a US supplier, but it would have been more than 10x the cost. And that doesn't help us serve our customers or our mission.
We're here to support a US mission and affordability. And we're proud to give back to our veterans with every purchase. That's what we believe in.
Stay sharp out there.
